Philadelphia Fall Bucket List (1)

Family things to do - Philadelphia, this fall!

Looking for family things to do? Look no further. Here are some of the best family things to do in Philadelphia, this fall. more It's that time of year again; the mornings are cold and the leaves are changing. This colder weather might make you want to hibernate inside, but we have some activities that will get you and the family outside. Corn Maze If you want to unplug from social media and spend some quality time outdoors, check out your area for corn mazes. Corn mazes are a great way to spend quality time with friends and family. We might have found one of the largest corn mazes in the Philadelphia area. If you haven't already, check out Merrymead farm in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. There's no better way to celebrate fall than getting lost in a corn maze with your favorite people. This activity could take the whole day if you wanted. Along with the 5-acre cornfield maze, Merrymade farms offers a variety of fall activities, including hayrides, a corn tunnel, and more!  For more info visit https://www.merrymead.com/ Family Zoo Day Fall is the perfect weather for visiting a zoo. It's not too hot nor too cold. The Philadelphia Zoo is America's first zoo. You will catch some unique animals here, such as the Southern White Rhinoceros, that were once thought to be extinct in the wild, now listed as Near Threatened. Some of my personal favorites include the African Lion and the Amur Tiger. You can spend a lot of time here, as the Philadelphia Zoo is one of the larger zoos and home to nearly 1,700 animals, many rare and endangered. If you're interested in seeing what animals are in the zoo, visit: https://www.philadelphiazoo.org/ . The Philadelphia zoo has something for everyone in the family. Historical Landmarks History is important. Here are a few must-visit historical sites in Philadelphia that you should add to your bucket list. First is the Independence Hall which is located on Chestnut Street, in between 5th and 6th Streets. You will find the entrance to Independence Hall after going through a security screening area on Chestnut Street ("Visiting Independence Hall," 2022). After the security area, people line up behind Independence Hall for a tour. The address for the GPS is 520 Chestnut Street ("Independence Hall"). The Second Continental Congress signed the Declaration of Independence here in 1776. Eleven years later, in the same room, delegates to the Constitutional Convention created and signed an enduring framework of government - the United States Constitution (Lisa Hunt). Although known today as Independence Hall, the building was constructed to be the Pennsylvania State House. It once housed all three branches of Pennsylvania's colonial government. In the same park as Independence Hall, you'll find the Liberty Bell. This iconic symbol of liberty contains a lot of history and significance to America. Whether it's your first time visiting or your 20th time, the Liberty Bell is a must when visiting Philadelphia. Talk a walk back in time by visiting the nation's oldest continuously inhabited residential street. Elfreth's Alley was named after the property owner Jeremiah Elfreth, a blacksmith. Elfreth's alley housed many eighteenth-century artisans and tradespeople who were fundamental to Colonial Philadelphia. This tiny cobblestone alley is a National Historic Landmark that has 32 houses. Two of the houses were built in 1755 and are now a museum and gift shop. You can explore this alley on your own or do a 45-minute guided tour (“Elfreth’s Alley"). Fairmount Park Whether planning a family picnic or playing a game of catch, Fairmount Park is a neat place to go. Located along the Schuylkill River, Fairmount park has over 2,000 acres of trails, hills, historic landmarks, and shaded lounging areas. There are miles of trails perfect for riding bikes, hiking, running, and strolling. You'll also find historic properties, structures, and works of art in the Fairmount Park. Many of the houses of the people who initially formed the park are open to the public for viewing, showing historical collections and art. Also, in the park, you can see greenhouses, an orchard, many playgrounds, and facilities for baseball, soccer, and basketball. The landscape ranges from forested areas, grass meadows, paved walkways, and trails. Some picture-worthy landmarks you need to see are the Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, the historic Strawberry Mansion, and the Fairmount Water Works. There are plans for improvements and new features for the park ("Fairmount Park," 2019). Areas of the park are open from sunrise to sunset. Baseball game The last family activity to do this fall is to watch a baseball game. Head over to Citizens Bank Park to watch the Phillies game. Cheer on the Phillies and enjoy a baseball snack while watching the crowd go wild. The Phillies are known to have the best fans. They're doing amazing this year, so cheer them on when you're in Philadelphia. What is a Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty? What does it cover?

There is NO SUCH thing as a bumper-to-bumper warranty! What is this warranty is really called and what is and isn’t protected under this coverage. more The term “bumper to bumper” warranty can be a bit deceiving because it implies that everything between the front and rear bumpers are covered. Unfortunately, this isn’t exactly the case, starting with the fact that your bumpers aren’t even covered on a bumper-to-bumper warranty. Now this doesn’t mean that a “bumper-to-bumper” warranty doesn’t provide immense value, because it does! But I think we can all agree that knowing the accurate names and coverages is important, especially if you’re trying to look like an expert! The proper term for a bumper-to-bumper warranty is known as a basic, or comprehensive warranty. These limited coverages typically come standard with new cars for anywhere from 3 years, or 36000 miles to 5 years, or 60,000 miles, but can also be purchased from a third-party warranty provider as well. A basic warranty covers many major systems of your vehicle and thousands of parts related to steering, suspension, fuel delivery systems, heating, cooling, electrical, braking and much much more. Basic warranties also INCLUDE a powertrain coverage too, which we touched on in a previous video, so make sure you check that out In terms of cost, parts and labor covered under a manufacturer’s basic warranty is usually done FREE of charge, unless you’re dealing with a third-party basic warranty, which may require a small deductible, like $100, to perform the work. These third-party warranties are usually purchased in addition to a vehicle, typically pre-owned, that have less remaining warranty coverage from the manufacturer, compared to a new vehicle. Although a basic limited warranty is the most comprehensive coverage, it doesn’t mean it covers everything. Things that wouldn’t be covered under a basic warranty include: Tires & wheels, routine maintenance like oil changes, interior upholstery, paint, windshield glass & wiper blades, normal wear & tear items like brakes & rotors, or any damage due to misuse, neglect, or collisions. Overall, basic limited warranties are pretty legit! With thousands of parts covered, these warranties ensure you're protected from any defects in materials or workmanship. Not to mention, the work usually gets done for free unless there is a small deductible. So, the next time you find yourself searching for a new car, ask about the basic limited warranty, not the bumper-to-bumper warranty, so you can sound like a pro! If you have any other questions or comments regarding basic limited warranties or would like to suggest any other topics you want me to cover, please let us know in the comments section below. Pickup trucks Value

Which trucks hold their value the best?

Looking for a reliable truck that will hold it's value? Being experts at finding and reselling pickup trucks, we know which will maintain the best resell value over time. Find out more: more Pickup Trucks with the Best Resale Value As prices for trucks rise, it's important to purchase one that will hold its value if you plan on reselling in the future. With a quickly depreciating truck, you may stick yourself in the unprofitable situation when looking to sell back your truck. At our dealerships, we specialize in finding quality, valuable trucks to stock our inventory with. Which means, our managers know what to buy and what not to buy. Let's take a look at which trucks they've seen hold the most resale value. The Top Trucks for Future Resale What to Look For How to Keep Your Truck's Value The Top Trucks for Future Resale Pickup trucks are a great investment and almost all are good at holding their value in comparison to sedans and SUVs. But over the years, there are a few that have held a pattern of depreciating slower than the rest. Here's what we are currently seeing hold the best resale value: Toyota Tacoma GMC Sierra Toyota Tundra Ford F150 Chevrolet Silverado Though, these are the current suggestions from our managers, it's important to understand how the resale value is evaluated and how it can change year after year. VIEW TRUCK INVENTORY What to Look For There are key markers that make a specific pickup truck valuable. Let's start with the basics. Why are prices generally higher for specific models? There are 2 answers to this: Supply & Demand and Brand Name. Supply and demand affects pricing for almost every product, and trucks are no exception. The more trucks of a specific kind are available, the lower the resale price will be. For example, right now RAMs are saturating the marketing (high supply), making their price lower. Contrarily, a rare truck will continue to hold its value even after years (low supply, higher demand). Next, you have the big brand names people favor. For example, Ford and Toyota. Those brands have a long standing track record of quality pickup trucks, but this doesn't mean the competition isn't on par. A full evaluation of a product is suggested. Also, our managers mentioned a few other features and specs you should keep an eye out for. These could increase the value and help the truck maintain a higher resale value: Ecoboost Engine (higher MPG and can tow just as much as comparable options) Longbeds (rare) Crew Cabs > Quad Cabs (truck becoming more frequently used by families) Higher than Average Towing Capacity Rare Modifications i.e. lifting, rims, tailgate features Trucks with Limited-Time Factory Features, e.g. massage seats The above are only a few of the value-adding features you may see in your search. VIEW TRUCK INVENTORY How to Keep Your Truck's Value Once you do find the pickup truck you wanted, it's important to retain as much of its value as you can. The best ways to do this is to service the vehicle regularl y and add in protection i.e. undercoating. Undercoating, especially in areas that snow, is extremely important. It protects your trucks underbelly from corrosion and rust caused by debris, salt, water, and more. Lastly, you can put money into your truck and get some modifications. In doing this your truck becomes a rare find and increases it's resale value. Now you're ready to shop for your new truck.
