A New Chapter in Community Health and Hunger Relief

We are proud to support the launch of the South Jersey Food Bank’s (SJFB) new Center for Health, Wellness, and Nutrition, a transformative facility dedicated to empowering South Jersey families through education, nourishment, and holistic wellness.

This cutting-edge facility is designed to address the root causes of hunger and health inequity by helping individuals and families better understand food—how to access it, prepare it, and use it to build healthier lives.

What the Center Offers

The SJFB Center includes a wide range of community-focused resources, including:

  • Teaching Kitchen – A space for hands-on cooking education, nutrition workshops, and healthy meal prep.
  • Cafeteria & Dining Space – Providing nutritious meals in a welcoming, communal setting.
  • Fitness Gym – Promoting physical wellness for individuals of all ages.
  • Greenhouse – Supporting food education through sustainable gardening and local growing practices.
  • Wellness & Support Services – Offering access to additional resources to address food insecurity and health needs.

LOCATED AT: 1300 John Tipton Blvd, Pennsauken, NJ 08110

Our Commitment: $25,000 Toward a Welcoming Space

We’re excited to share that Matt Blatt Mitsubishi and The Greenblatt Family have donated $25,000 to support the creation of the Center’s Reception and Waiting Area. This donation reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering health, dignity, and support for everyone who walks through the doors of this new facility.

Acknowledgment at the Center will read:
“Matt Blatt Mitsubishi and The Greenblatt Family”

While the waiting area is still under construction, it is expected to be completed by Fall 2025.

A Legacy of Partnership

Our collaboration with the South Jersey Food Bank began in 2014, and today we proudly celebrate over 20 years of shared commitment to fighting hunger and uplifting South Jersey communities.

In addition to our support for the new Center for Health, Wellness, and Nutrition, Matt Blatt Mitsubishi in Glassboro participates in multiple initiatives each year to expand access to food and wellness resources:

  • Holiday Food Basket Distribution: Every December, we organize and distribute holiday food baskets to local families in need during the Christmas season—helping bring comfort and nourishment during the holidays.
  • Support for Hospitality and Retail Workers: During the COVID-19 pandemic, Matt Blatt stepped in to support displaced hospitality and retail workers, distributing groceries to those affected.

  • Summer Meals Program & Kidsfest: As a returning sponsor of the Food Bank of South Jersey’s Summer Meals Program, we proudly contribute to initiatives like Kidsfest, where over 100 children gather to kick off the season. The event includes free meals, a ribbon-cutting of the renovated Bus Stop Café, and a wide array of activities—from backpack donations and t-shirt painting to games and learning stations. These efforts ensure thousands of children across Burlington, Camden, Salem, and Gloucester counties receive meals during the summer months when school is out.

This legacy is not just measured in years—but in the countless lives touched through meals, programs, and moments of community connection. At Matt Blatt Mitsubishi, we’re honored to stand with SJFB in creating a stronger, healthier South Jersey for all.

A Milestone Event: Grand Opening of the Teaching Kitchen

On Tuesday, SJFB hosted a special celebration to unveil the Teaching Kitchen—the first completed phase of the new facility—funded by the Campbell’s Soup Foundation. The day was filled with energy, gratitude, and reconnection, featuring appearances from long-time supporters and even SJFB founder Ellen Ward.

We were honored to be part of this moment that marks not just the launch of a building—but the beginning of a broader community movement.
